Twenty Four Carrots was founded purely on the love of horses. The business owners, Mariya (Masha) Kamphuis-Felderhof and Alyssa Sharkey, combined this mutual passion of equines and put it to use in an effort to address and improve upon a huge issue in the equine industry: the quality of feed and supplements offered. 

It all started in 2017 sparked by a candid conversation between the owners who were considering supplement and feed options for their own horses. Masha, who moved from the Netherlands with her pregnant mare, was having an incredibly difficult time finding a feed that matched European standards and Alyssa, who was on the hunt for a similar quality feed due to an EMS diagnosis in her older horse, was having the same difficulties. While doing their research on products available they each found it incredibly shocking how many feeds and supplements on the market contained fillers, byproducts, soy, grain, molasses and other truly inferior ingredients which did not contribute to the health of the horse but rather to the profit of the company. The options for whole food supplements and feeds were limited and those that existed boasted quite the price tag. From this unfortunate discovery, an idea was born. The idea was to start a new company with lofty goals of breaking into and taking on the titans in the feed industry by offering whole food products that are not only effective for any level of equine athlete but also free from any subpar ingredients and competitively priced. The girls both enjoy a challenge and thus their company, Twenty Four Carrots was brought to life.
