My horse has suffered from allergies only for two years, so we are definitely in the trial and error stage of what finding what works. His allergies are more respiratory in nature. One thing I’m thrilled with is this doesn’t have any unnecessary fillers and it’s very palatable, even for a picky TB. I’ve noticed a great difference since starting it. His coughing has all but disappeared. Strange side effect is that his skin has been really irritated and sensitive since starting it with constant breakouts I’ve not seen in him in ten years since we first found out he was allergic to soy. At this point, I’d rather address skin issues than breathing ones, so I’m going to continue with it until early May when the pollen dies down.
We have two horses on this product. They are both extreme cases. One is young and a Thoroughbred the other is a twenty year old Half Arabian. They have each been on this product for two months but within the first two weeks we had no symptoms. The young mare had been having mucus in her lungs and chronic infections which kept her from eating her normal ration. She is bright eyed and eating every bite today. The older show horse is a true miracle story. For years we have done everything including the testing and shots every month. Her only relief from coughing was all of the above plus cetirizine tablet twice a day. She no longer needs these pills and she can breathe normally for the first in years. This product is the best.
I have used Zyrtec and allergy shots for a pony I have that will scratch his belly, mane and tail raw. This didn’t work. I have tried it for a month and didn’t help at all. I wish it did cause it is easy to use and he eats it really well. Seems like a great product though.
My horse was attacked and stung multiple times by yellow jackets late summer 2022. He got hives for the first time in his life from the multiple stings he suffered.
Ever since then? he would break out in hives all the time. The past few months he had them nonstop. I tried different antihistamines, other natural remedies, topical, removing anything I thought could possibly be triggering it and NOTHING worked. I was about to give up and get steroids from my vet.
I decided to try this product as a last ditch effort to try it naturally. In 24 hours after giving him 2/3rd of a cup, he had maybe one hive. I couldn’t believe it. He has them for months and almost immediately they were gone. It has been 4 days and he looks amazing. It has been an answer to prayer!
My horse has been suffering from severe hives for months to the point where his hair was falling out leaving bald spots. The vet put him on hydroxyzine for a month. I tried this product and after about a week the hives went away and the hair is coming back. In terms of efficacy, I give this product 5 stars plus! However, the 6lb bag lasts one month and costs $175 plus $10 shipping. That can be cost prohibitive to maintain on auto delivery. Also, there was no scoop enclosed to feed the 2/3 cup daily. Would be great to have that included in the bags. Will keep feeding as long as I can. Thanks for the exceptional product!!!
